YOUR TOMATOES: Jenn, Linda and Kerm of Sudbury

Clockwise, from the top are: Polish Linguisa, Garden Peach, Jet Star, Orange Blossom, Lemon Boy, and along the bottom, an assortment of our cherry tomatoes: Black Cherry, Supersweet, Matt’s Wild Cherry, Sungold, and Red Robin.

When we emailed out our latest Verrill Farm newsletter last week (you can sign up here, if you want to receive our news alerts), we asked those of you who ordered Verrill Farm tomato seedlings to send pictures of your harvested tomatoes so we could post them on our blog. If you ordered seedlings and are harvesting your tomatoes, we’d love for you to send a picture and description here.

Here is the first story we received from a family in Sudbury.

I recently received your email asking for updates on heirloom tomato seedlings bought from Verrill, and I very much wanted to share our harvest!

We ordered 15 varieties of heirloom tomato plants from Verrill Farm this year. I’m happy to report that all the plants are happy and healthy, and are flush with tomatoes! (Although sadly, the local squirrels are eating more than we are at the moment, but we’re trying all manner of sprays, granules, and fences to deter them from our beautiful plants.) We haven’t sampled all the varieties yet, as several are still waiting to ripen, but everything we have tasted has been absolutely delectable!

Attached is a picture of some of our recent harvests; clockwise, from the top are: Polish Linguisa, Garden Peach, Jet Star, Orange Blossom, Lemon Boy, and along the bottom, an assortment of our cherry tomatoes: Black Cherry, Supersweet, Matt’s Wild Cherry, Sungold, and Red Robin.

We are looking forward to many more weeks of wonderful tomato enjoyment! (If you’re still looking for tomato pictures later in the summer, I will surely send some more as we harvest them.)

All the Best,

Jenn, Linda, and Kerm
